Imagine there was a way that you could influence your emotional, physical and psychological well-being and it just took a few minutes of your time each day. You'd want to do it, wouldn't you?
So often I hear people say, "I can't clear my mind" or "I've tried to meditate and I just can't" or "meditation just isn't for me" and those are interesting beliefs. But just because that's what you believe, doesn't make it true. How many people believe in the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus? How many people still believe the world is flat? (well, actually there are a few conspiracy theorists who might still believe that and I honestly, can't definitively say it is or isn't) Beliefs change over time and we can bust old beliefs, thank goodness!
What I usually discover is that:
a) People's expectations of "clearing the mind" is completely unrealistic. We all have thoughts come and go and in fact, the only time the brain shows zero activity is.... well... I think we all know what the flat line on brain activity means. And that's definitely not the goal of meditation
b) They have an image of a monk on a mountain meditation crossed legged, and that's what they believe meditation is
c) They haven't found the right teacher, yet!
The truth is that meditation assists you to clear away the overload that builds up in our mind, it creates some space and in doing so, has been proven to reduce stress, increase self-awareness, reduce negative emotions and even boost creativity (and if I have problems, I'd like creative ways to solve them, wouldn't you?)
But what about the physical benefits?
Research has shown that meditation can aid in issues such as Anxiety, IBS, Headaches, Chronic Pain, High Blood Pressure, Asthma and so much more including Anxiety and Depression! The mind and body are connected and therefore affect each other. Every thought that you have, creates a chemical reaction in the body - meditation can bring more awareness to the thoughts that you have and therefore, gives you the opportunity to change your body chemistry! Amazing, isn't it?

FEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS TRAINING:
"I have learned- more then I could have imagined!! I can calm the monkey brain- not all the time and I have found lots of things I can work on which I would never have found without your help. I can identify some of the reasons I have found life so difficult and why just saying ‘ I’ll be alright / get over it/ think positive’ doesn’t work for me."
"There was laughter and there was a few tears and I learned new ways to deal with emotions and get some clarity and resolution on things that have been weighing me down. I feel lighter, happier and can deal with the issues that come up more easily"
"I feel more connected, more relaxed, my anxiety has reduced and I feel more able to deal with it when it does come up. Thank you"
"I enjoyed each session, the simple strategies had such a profound impact and it really was a journey through mind, body and spirit. Please run them again, I love this time of the week and look forward to it"
"I have only one word. Three Letters. WOW"
