Trauma can have a significant impact on our lives, from the way we relate to others, our physical and emotional wellbeing through to addictions. We can get stuck in our traumatic world and struggle to find the freedom we so desperately seek. It's not your fault, but healing old wounds can assist you in reclaiming your life.
As much as we would like for life to be a wonderful joyous experience, tragedy is a reality. Many people suffer traumatic events, physical or sexual abuse or other experiences that are difficult to heal from. As a result of trauma, we usually develop a range of unconscious patterns of thoughts, behaviour and emotion that continue to influence our decisions, actions and experience of life. It can lead to all kinds of issues including anxiety, depression, addiction, self-sabotage and other coping strategies. "The most damaging after effect of trauma is disconnection - from ourselves, from others, and from the truth about ourselves, the world and our place in it."
A traumatic experience can cause feelings of upset emotions, frightening memories, or a sense of constant danger. It can also cause numbness, disconnectedness, and an inability to trust other people. When bad things happen, it can take a while to get over the pain and feel safe again. Traumatic experiences usually involve a threat to life or safety, but any situation that leaves you feeling overwhelmed and/or alone can be traumatic, even if it doesn’t involve physical harm. It’s not what happens to us that determines whether or not an event is traumatic, but our subjective emotional experience of the event. The more frightened and helpless you feel, the more likely you are to be traumatised.
Whether a traumatic event happened years ago or yesterday, you can heal and move on. Your Trauma Is Not Your Fault, But Your Healing Is Your Responsibility. I don't believe that you are broken - you are a beautiful soul who has layers of trauma conditioning - beliefs, ideas and patterns that were created from something that wasn't your fault - you had no control. Together, we can help you to move beyond the trauma, to heal those old wounds and start creating a life more aligned to who you really are - underneath all of those conditioned layers!
I am not going to tell you that I know how you feel, because I don't - but I hope that you will tell me. What I can say, is that I have walked the path that you are on - when I first discovered NLP, traditional psychology had left me feeling like I was always going to be a victim of childhood sexual abuse - the things I did as a teen, the self abuse, the drug use, the low self esteem - was because I was broken. And I believed that I would always carry those wounds - I would always be a victim. It wasn't until I found NLP that I finally broke free of the past and was able to live free of any shame and guilt, squash that old idea of not being good enough and really become empowered design my life.
No matter where you have been, what you have experienced or where you are on your healing journey - we can work together to help you overcome the past. Everyone's journey, the impacts of trauma and their reason for seeking assistance will be different! That's why the first session we do together is so important! It will assist me in uncovering the unconscious patterns of thoughts, emotions and behaviour that are interfering and identify any resources (like self belief, self confidence, resilience etc) that will assist you in achieving your goals and desires and help you to be a happier, healthier, more joyful you!
On average, I work with clients for 4-8 sessions, so I would advise you to explore package options to ensure that you get the most from your coaching experience. All packages include access to resources that you can utilise between sessions to assist you in moving beyond the trauma.
